I have now revised my blog post to reflect the information in this more recent post, and to incorporate the additional contact information that other people have left in the comments here:

Hi,

Thanks for highlighting this appalling case. I’ve sent emails to the people mentioned and have also contacted Amnesty International in Canada to ask them to take her case.

I reposted all of this to Catholic pro-life blogs, news agencies, and sites.

For everyone invovled in sending e-mails, posting on blogs, participating in rallies, or following along hoping for the best for Minna, there seems to be good news. A recent post on the Facebook page of which you provided a link above has an article by the Canadian Press dated 1/28 that states Minna’s home health care will be restored on Monday. It also states that the short term goal of getting Minna health care will be followed by another goal to see that this never happens to anyone in their province again.

Best wishes to Minna…She had an entire community of people near and far rallying for her rights..

Having been a recipient of services from the local CCAC (Sarnia), I too am aware of the - evil - practices of them. I have had to deal with constant - vague - complaints which accuse me of being abusive towards the Personal Support Workers. I have never once been abusive towards any PSW. Only on one occassion did I yell at a PSW, after she refused to listen to the first 4 times I stated that I was too severely ill to move and unable to bathe. She kept insisting that I bathe or that she had to leave. She soon left without unplugging the heater I require while bathing, and failed to prepare any meal for me either. This is routine and acceptable behaviour by the PSWs and CCAC is well aware of such attitude from such PSWs but they continue to do nothing about the PSWs. There are several PSWs who refuse to completely bathe me - thinking washing of the feet is an indignation. And again CCAC has done nothing to enforce what is supposed to be the duties of their job. And yet they immediately are on the phone to me accusing ME of being “abusive”. It’s always been the PSWs who have either failed to do their job, think they’re job duties are too menial for them, and/or are outright abusive in their attitude and actual words.
