Wow! Lots of boxes! Thanks for putting this together, even when feeling crummy.

You’ve assembled such a collection of boxes, now I feel like moving house. ;) Thanks, Amanda, this is a fine edition of the carnival, and given your last few days’ adventures, it’s especially appreciated.

I announced this edition’s appearance on DS,TU with an old photo of my son in a box full of styro peanuts.

Very wide ranging and informative. I think I’ve read a couple before. Thank you for putting them together and thank you to all the bloggers for writing them.

Looks like a nice variety of posts there and some bloggers I’ve not “met” before. I’ll have to read in more depth when it’s not midnight. Thanks for putting this together Amanda, hope you feel better soon.

I will get to the submissions people sent in (including the one that I somehow missed, yes I just missed it I didn’t leave it out on purpose). I just got back from the emergency room (and this time it was bad enough to show up on lung x-rays) so it probably won’t be tonight.

I’m on Prednisone (Laura predicted this days ago, but I didn’t want to believe her) so I am feeling better, but dreading what the next few days will be like. They found something or other that I can’t pronounce on the lung x-ray, that can either be pre-pneumonia or just a common complication of asthma or something, and they told me not to worry since I’m already on antibiotics. I’m also sick enough that I fell asleep after 60 mg of Prednisone, which is impressive.

This is WAY off the point for this post, but given past discussions about the different ways the brains of autistics and non-autistics seem to be wired, I thought this article on “self-deception” might be of interest to a few people– on the evolutionary reason why people fool not just others but themselves:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/29/AR2007042901152.html

As I was reading this, I wondered if it is mostly non-autistics who have this capacity for self-deception …
